It is  Quite rare, but it may happens that the Google servers is down in your region/country or temporary not available. You can find out if there is a google server failures in your country, by checking out the  official google transparency report website of the company Here. In addition, you need to check the operation of Google services using the service DownDetector Here . It logs failures very quickly, because the information comes directly from users.

If you are using a VPN, temporarily disable the service and try accessing Google Play. VPN service like Tunnel Bear can sometimes cause problems. You can also uninstall the latest VPN apk apps you recently installed too.

4. Check the date and time :

When you first configure a new gadget without a SIM card, the date and time may not be set correctly. Check and, if necessary, set the correct values.

5.  If you have root access:

If you have root access  and have problems with Google Play after the root user's rights are required, then you are likely to have corrupted the system's OS files. In this case, we recommend that you restore a recent backup or refresh your smartphone/tablet.

6. Deleting recent application files and folder:

With the help of any file manager, go to the / Android / data directory in the internal memory of the smartphone and delete the application folder, the update can cause an error.

7.  Delete the ASEC file (requires root):

Delete the file named smd2tmp1 located on the path / mnt / secure / asec or / mnt / asec . If there is no file with this name in the specified directories, then the error is caused by something else.

8. Change the time zone of the router:

Check in the settings of your WiFi router whether the time zone is set correctly. If not, install the correct one.

9. Remove applications:

Delete some old or unused applications or files from the device's internal memory.
In case of error 505: install Lucky Patcher to find out which of the existing programs conflicts with the application that you are trying to install. Also you can resort to the advice on using Lucky Patcher from google search.

10. Disabling the antivirus:

This will work for users facing with errors 25/26 on Xiaomi smartphones using MIUI firmware. To solve this problem, you must disable the built-in MIUI antivirus.

11. Remounting the memory card:

Just pull out the memory card and reinsert it into the gadget. Be sure to unmount the card before removing it from the device.

12. Use another connection:

If you are connected to a Wi-Fi network, try to connect to the Internet through a cellular network and check if that will solve the Playstore error/issues. If you are connected through a cellular network, respectively, try to connect to Wi-Fi.  Also, you can delete the APN for accessing the Internet through a cellular network and restart the gadget.

In the popular AOSP firmware: "Settings" | Wireless Networks | «More» | Mobile Networks | "Access points". In Samsung, you can change the access point in the "Settings" menu | Connections | Mobile Networks | "Access points".

13.  Reinstall the application:

If the error occurred while trying to update the application, uninstall and then reinstall the program from Google Play.

14. Restore the preinstalled browser:

Check out if  a browser preinstalled in your firmware is disabled on your device and enable it in settings, or reinstall it if it was deleted using superuser rights.

 15. Clear the cache partition:

Reboot your device in recovery mode ( you cn do a simple Google search on how to do this or can find out in the thread devoted to the discussion or firmware of your device on XDA-Forum) and clear the cache section by selecting the Wipe cache partition menu item.

16.  Transfer cache to memory card (Requires root):

Transfer cache to memory card (Requires root): This method of solving problems with Google Play is suitable for smartphones with a small amount of internal storage and cache partition. Install Terminal Emulator on your device and execute the following commands in order to move cache to Sdcard:
mkdir / mnt / sdcard / mcache
cd / cache
mv download download
ln -s / mnt / sdcard / mcache download
ls -ahl

17. Download and Install  Google Play.apk from the web:

You can easily install the Play Store manually if you unintentionally uninstalled it or want to roll back to a previous version to avoid bugs. Download either the latest or old version of Google Play store.apk from apkmirrior Here to get started.

18. Clearing the cache and data of Google applications:

Another common way to solve many problems is by cleaning the caches of Google's pre-installed services. Open the smartphone settings and go to the "Applications" section. In the list, select the item you want (Google Play Store, Google Play Services or Google Services Framework) and click the Clear Data button (if available) or Clear Cache.

To access the Google Services Framework, you need to click the "Menu" button in the list of installed programs and enable the display of system applications. In some cases, for example in latest Samsung Smartphones, the cache and data reset buttons are located in the "Memory" option settings.

If you're still facing problems after having tried all of the above, then you may have little choice but to do a factory reset. This is a drastic measure and there are consequences. All of your data will be lost. So you should perform a complete backup beforehand.

19. Uninstall Google Play updates:

In the gadget settings, open the list of installed programs, find the "Google Play Store" among them, and then click the "Disable" button. Agree with the warning in the pop-up window by pressing the "Off" button again. In the next pop-up window, click "OK" to delete all store updates. At the end of the procedure, return the service to its place by pressing the "Enable" button.

20. Clear the Google Play search cache:

Open Google Play and go to the application settings from the sidebar and click on "Clear search history"

21. Remove and re-enter Google account:

Delete and add a Google Account. By doing this, you run the risk of losing progress in games and settings and also in applications that do not store data in cloud. Therefore, you should try using other methods before trying this out.  The bottom line is to delete, and then re-add the Google account. To do this, open the gadget settings, find the "Accounts" section in them, and then select the account and delete it.Now you can reopen Google Play, which will prompt you to sign in again.

22. Take a look at your disabled apps:

Keep in mind that some apps need each other in order to work properly. Especially when dealing with system apps like the Google Play Store. Have you disabled any apps recently? That could be the cause of your Play Store issues or errors.

Just head over to Settings > Apps > All and scroll all the way down. This is where disabled apps go when they are put down. If you see any disabled services, just enable them and see if that helps.

23. Enable Download Manager:

There is a chance that the Play Store will stop working if your download manager is disabled. If this is the case, the solution is simple.

Go into your Settings and tap either Apps or Application manager (depending on your device). You should either see all of your apps or you might have to choose All. From there find Downloads or Download manager and hit this.

24. Delete the file "hosts.txt" (requires root):

For advanced users who have already rooted their device, open your root-privileged file explorer of choice. Then go to your root/system directory and search for "hosts.txt" and delete the file. Note: do not touch any of the other system files!
